V.V. Brown - back in NYC

One of the most original and talented singer songwriters, V.V. Brown is finally out of hiatus and I am ecstatic. Here's my first post on her. Please excuse the excessive use of (!).She made a tour stop in NYC last week! If you weren't there then you missed out on a good time. V.V. not only sang her classics such as "Shark in the Water," she also sang a load of her new songs from her upcoming album, Lollipops & Politics. It is set to be released in early 2012. Review = great. The songs are more mature and involves more serious issues that effects today's generations. And V.V. still makes it fun.

One of my favorites is "Famous." She wants to be famous/But what does it mean? What do anything we do in this life, mean to you?

I had the pleasure of meeting V.V. for a mere minute after her performance. I was a bit star stuck. I was meeting one of my favorite artists of all time! All I was able to get out was "I really like your songs. You are so cool. Can you sign this?" Oy. At least it made sense! V.V. was an absolute dear.

Rachael Yamagata @ Rockwood

"Be Be Your Love." That was our hope for the day. My friends and I were looking forward to see Rachael Yamagata play at Rockwood. The place was filled up pretty quickly and we were lucky enough to get front row "seats."

Rachael is a lovechild between James Morrison and Fiona Apple. Her songs have made its way onto many films and shows such as How I Met Your Mother, Nip/Tuck, Grey's Anatomy, ER.

She released her third album, Chesapeake, in October. Her single, Starlight, from the new album is taking an even more rock-ier approach from her past adult alternative style. But still very rich in voice and lyrics. Rachael is currently on a nationwide tour and will return to New York for 2 performances in December. More info in the "Upcoming Events" section!

Class Actress Free MP3 - Keep You

Download the free MP3, "Keep You" from Class Actress, here (on Amazon)! "Keep You" is the the new single of of their new album, Rapprocher. Check here for the post on Class Actress.

Here's a little something from the lead singer, Elizabeth Harper and others from her other collaboration band, Girl Crisis. Of course, they sing the classic "The Sign" from my favorite band of all time (what they are today is a whole different story), Ace of Base ! Gives me goosebumps!
